Fix: no conversion to this size could be found
Lesson 23 of 24 5 min read
When Units of Measure are on, an order in a pack size with no matching conversion fails. Learn to read the error and add the missing conversion.
This error only appears once you've turned Units of Measure on, and it nearly always means one thing: a partner ordered in a pack size you haven't told Supply Lens about. This lesson shows you how to read it and fix it.
The error
Cross reference of order 691fec6851030ea87d7b27b3 has failed:
Line 1 specified a traded unit size of 6.000 but no conversion to this size could be found
When your organisation uses Units of Measure, Supply Lens cross-references the units on every order
it receives. If a line has a traded unit size (a pack size, such as "packs of 6") and the Product
has no conversion of that size, the order is set to Failed and this error is logged.
Reading the message:
- order 691fec… is the Document that failed;
- Line 1 is the line to look at;
- 6.000 is the pack size the sender used: six single units.
Why it happens
A traded unit size of more than one tells Supply Lens "this is a pack of N singles". It looks for the unit whose conversion on that Product holds that many singles. With no such conversion, there is no safe way to read the quantity, so the order stops rather than guess.
Fix it
- Open the failed order and note the line number and traded unit size from the Logs.
- Find the Product on that line (click its green tick, or search for its SKU).
- In the Product's Conversions section, click + ADD.
- Add a conversion that holds that many singles, for example 1 Case is equivalent to 6 Bag.
- Click SAVE CONVERSION, check it with Visualise, and reprocess the order.
Greenleaf's cases of 12
Two of Greenleaf's weekend orders failed with a traded unit size of 12 on the 1kg Espresso Blend. Hilltop's conversion for that Product says 1 Case = 4 Bag; Greenleaf has started ordering Brookside's larger outer of twelve.
Priya checks with Brookside that the 12-bag outer really exists, adds a new unit Outer on the Units of Measure screen, adds 1 Outer = 12 Bag on the Espresso 1kg Product, and reprocesses both orders. They complete.
Check before you add
Don't add a conversion just to make the error go away. If no one actually packs that size, the partner's order is wrong, and adding the conversion would send a quantity to your warehouse that it can't pick. Confirm the pack size first.
Recap
- The error appears when Units of Measure are on and a line's pack size has no matching conversion.
- The message gives you the order, the line and the traded unit size.
- Add a conversion on that Product holding that many singles, then reprocess.
- Confirm the pack size is real before adding a conversion.
