Supply Lens

Test and go live

Lesson 11 of 12 8 min read

Prove every flow with real test orders, check the results in Supply Lens and your other systems, then switch on with confidence.

Testing is where you find out whether your settings do what you meant. In this lesson you'll run a structured test of every flow, know what "good" looks like at each step, and work through a go-live checklist so nothing is left to chance.

Before you enable

Run down this list. Every item comes from an earlier lesson.

  • SKUs aligned, with a unique SKU for every variation.
  • A configuration for each Document type you need, with the right direction.
  • statusesToImport contains the statuses you fulfil from.
  • Customer settings chosen: default, guest and identifier settings.
  • Webhooks set up from the tile's Webhooks section.
  • A schedule chosen, or a plan to run the Integration manually.
  • A Mapping for every flow. Consider turning Automatic off on the order Mapping for the first few days so you can review orders before they're sent on.
  • Shipment Tracking extension installed, if useShipmentTracking is true.

Enable the Integration

On the WooCommerce tile, toggle Activation to Enabled. The first sync starts immediately, and new data begins to appear. setupDate stops older orders coming in.

Run the basic test

  1. Create a test order in WooCommerce.
  2. Wait a few minutes.
  3. In Supply Lens, go to Sales → Orders. Your test order should appear.

Then open the order (click the magnifying glass) to see its summary screen and check the detail, not just that it arrived.

The Document summary screen

Test every flow

Use the sample orders you gathered at the start. For each test, check the result in Supply Lens and in the destination system.

TestWhat to check
Paid order, simple productArrives in Sales → Orders, correct customer, lines and total
Variable productThe variation's SKU matched the right Product
Order with a couponTotal matches what the customer paid, with no double discount
Guest checkoutAssigned to your guest Party
Plugin data (fees, notes, ship date)Adjustments, notes and dates came through
Unpaid or excluded statusDoes not appear
Shipment from your inventory systemTracking shows on the WooCommerce order
Stock change in your inventory systemStock updates on the WooCommerce product
Refund in WooCommerceCredit arrives in Supply Lens

Don't want to wait for the schedule?

Use Manual Operation on the tile and choose Run Send & Receive, Run Send or Run Receive to trigger a run now.

Read the statuses

  • PendingThe data has arrived and is waiting to be processed.
  • ProcessingBeing processed now. Usually only for a fraction of a second.
  • ReadyProcessed, but the Mapping is set to manual. Run it when you've reviewed the Document.
  • CompleteProcessed successfully to at least one Mapping.
  • FailedAn error was thrown. Open the Logs to see why.

Going fully live

When every test passes, turn Automatic back on for any Mapping you paused. Keep an eye on Sales → Orders for the first few days, and compare a handful of orders against WooCommerce each morning until you're confident.

Fernbrook's test day

Priya enables the Integration and places six test orders. Five arrive correctly. The cancelled order doesn't appear, as intended. The coupon order total matches, the guest order sits on Web Guest, and the gift-wrap fee shows as a charge line. In Unleashed she ships the first order, and minutes later the tracking number is on the WooCommerce order. She turns Automatic back on for the order Mapping.

Recap

  • Work through the pre-enable checklist before toggling Activation to Enabled.
  • Enabling starts the first sync immediately.
  • The basic test: place an order and check it appears in Sales → Orders.
  • Test every flow, including edge cases and orders that should be excluded.
  • Use Manual Operation to run now, and statuses to see where each Document is.
