Go live

Lesson 23 of 24 6 min read

Move from the Sandbox to your live Unleashed account safely, with a checklist for the switch-over and the first days afterwards.

Your Sandbox tests pass. Going live means connecting your real Unleashed account and pointing your Mappings at it, without importing history, duplicating orders, or catching your team by surprise. This lesson gives you a switch-over checklist.

The live Integration

The Sandbox and your live account have different API credentials, so live is a separate Integration in Supply Lens. Create it the same way you created the Sandbox one, with the live API ID and Key, and give it the same configurations you proved in testing.

The Sandbox is a snapshot

Codes you used in testing came from the Sandbox, which was copied from live at a point in time. Before go-live, check that every warehouse code, status, customer type, price tier, payment term, tax code, delivery method and product code named in your configuration exists in the live account too.

Switch-over checklist

  1. Re-check SKUs against live Unleashed, including products added since the Sandbox was created.
  2. Create the live Integration with the live API ID and Key, and leave Activation disabled.
  3. Add the configurations you tested, with the same settings.
  4. Set receive.setupDate to your go-live date on any configuration that imports from Unleashed, so the first run does not pull in history.
  5. Repoint Mappings from the Sandbox Integration to the live one. Consider starting the order Mapping with Automatic off so the first orders wait at Ready for review.
  6. Set the schedule on the live Integration.
  7. Enable the live Integration, and disable the Sandbox one so nothing goes to the wrong place.
  8. Tell the team what will change: where orders now come from, which status they arrive in, and who to call.

The first days

  • Watch the order list for Failed Documents and fix causes rather than symptoms: a missing SKU should be added to Unleashed, not worked around each time.
  • Compare a few orders field by field with the source channel.
  • Check that stock levels in your channel match Unleashed after the first inventory run.
  • Once you are confident, turn Automatic on for the order Mapping.
  • Ask finance to look at the first week of journals in Xero.

Hilltop goes live on a Monday

Priya chooses a Monday, the quietest day. On the Friday before, she re-checks SKUs and finds two new seasonal blends missing from the Sandbox but present in live: no problem. On Monday morning she creates the live Integration, adds the tested configurations, repoints the three Mappings, disables Sandbox Unleashed and enables the live one, with the order Mapping on manual. By lunchtime, 18 orders have arrived correctly. She switches the Mapping to automatic.

Recap

  • Live is a separate Integration with the live API ID and Key.
  • Re-check every code in your configuration against live, because the Sandbox is a snapshot.
  • Set receive.setupDate before the first import, repoint Mappings, and disable the Sandbox Integration.
  • Start with a manual order Mapping, review the first orders, then switch to automatic.
