How do I see the details of a document?
Read a Document
Open a Document and read its status, references, parties and lines, then follow its links to the source data and target data.
About 4 min
The Document screen answers most questions about a transaction: who, what, how many, at what price, and where it was sent.
Before you start
- Find the Document first. See Find a Document.
Steps
- On any Document list, click the magnifying glass (view) icon on the row to open the Document screen.
- Read the header for the document type, number and status, such as
CompleteorFailed. - Check the summary: References, Totals and Tags.
- Expand the party cards (Customer, Ship to, Supplier and so on) to see who is involved.
- Check the lines: each item's code, quantity, unit, price and totals. A green tick beside a line or party means Supply Lens matched it to one of your records. No tick means it wasn't recognised.
- To see what arrived or what was sent, open the links menu in the top-right and choose the source data or the target data.
On the source data screen you can download the data, copy it to your clipboard, open its logs, and reprocess, complete or cancel it.
Tip
With a Document open, press Ctrl+F (Command+F on a Mac) to search the whole Document.
Check it worked
You can answer the question you came with: for example, the order's status is Complete and the
links menu shows target data for the system you expected.
If something goes wrong
- The status is
Failed. Click Logs to see why. See Download Document logs and the fix guides such as Fix: product does not exist. - There's no target data for the system you expected. See Fix a Document not reaching its target.
