How do I send a document to a system again?
Resend a Document
Deliberately send a Document again, for example when the receiving system lost it or you've corrected it, without tripping the duplicate fail-safe.
About 3 min
Supply Lens won't send target data with the same reference to the same Integration twice. To send something again on purpose, you cancel the existing target data and reprocess.
Before you start
Check with the receiving system first
Make sure the receiving system really doesn't have it. If it does and you resend, you may create exactly the duplicate the fail-safe was there to stop, such as an order shipped twice.
- Know which Integration you want to send to again.
Steps
- Open the Document and choose the target data from the links menu in the top-right. Or open the target data list.
- Find the existing target data for the Integration you want to send to again.
- Tick it and choose Cancel and Reprocess, next to the Cancel button. This cancels the existing target data and reprocesses in one step.
You can also do it in two steps: Cancel the existing target data, then reprocess the Document.
Check it worked
New target data appears for that Integration. Once delivered, its communication status is Sent.
If it's Pending, it goes at the Integration's next send; to send it now, use Run send (see
Run an Integration manually).
If something goes wrong
- The new target data shows
Cancelled. The original target data was still live. Cancel it first, then reprocess. - The new target data shows
Failed. Open its Logs, and check the target Integration is enabled and connected. See Fix connection or login failures.
