How do I see or download the logs for a document?
Download Document logs
Open the logs for a Document, source data or target data, filter them to errors, and download them as a spreadsheet for Support.
About 3 min
Logs record what happened while a Document was built, converted or sent. For a Failed Document,
they hold the message that explains why.
Before you start
- Find the Document, source data or target data you're interested in. See Find a Document.
Steps
Logs for one item
- Open the Document, source data or target data.
- Click Logs in the upper-right. The logs open in a window over the page, so you keep your place. Failed items open showing only errors.
- Tick the severities you want to see, so warnings and errors stand out.
- Click an error to read its full details.
- Click Download CSV to save every entry at the ticked severities as a spreadsheet, up to 10,000 entries.
Logs for several items at once
- On the Documents, source data or target data list, tick up to 100 rows.
- Click Logs above the list to see all their entries together.
- Click Download CSV if you want to sort them in a spreadsheet or send them to Support.
Check it worked
The log window shows entries for the items you chose, and the CSV file opens in your spreadsheet app.
If something goes wrong
- The log is empty. Log entries are kept for 180 days, so older activity may have aged out. Also check which severities are ticked.
- The error doesn't make sense. Common messages have their own guides, such as Fix: product does not exist and Fix: no conversion to this size. Otherwise send the CSV to the Support Team with the Document ID.
