How do I make an integration run automatically?
Set an Integration schedule
Put an Integration on a regular schedule so it sends and receives on its own.
About 3 min
A schedule makes an Integration send and receive automatically at a regular interval.
Before you start
- An Integration set up in Supply Lens. See Add an Integration.
- An idea of how fresh the data needs to be. Orders, stock levels and tracking usually need a short interval; invoices to accounts can wait longer. If the system also sends webhooks, the schedule is just a back-up.
Steps
- Go to Settings → Integration setup → Integrations.
- Click the Integration you want to schedule.
- Click Schedule. The window shows whether a schedule is already in place.
- Click the interval you want: 30 mins, 1 hr, 2 hrs, 4 hrs, 8 hrs or 12 hrs.
Need more control?
You can set up several jobs on one Integration, each with its own schedules and document types, and run a schedule on a cron expression (a timetable such as "06:00 on weekdays") in the time zone you choose. If you haven't used cron before, ask the Support Team to help. The lesson Configure a schedule explains more.
Check it worked
On the Integrations screen, the Integration shows that it runs on a schedule and when it next runs. After that time, check for new Documents or target data from it.
If something goes wrong
- Nothing happens at the scheduled time. Check the Integration's Activation is set to Enabled.
- A cron schedule runs an hour early or late. Check its time zone. Older schedules run in UTC, which differs from UK time during British Summer Time.
- You can't wait for the next run. Run it manually.
