Supply Lens

How do I connect a warehouse that runs Clarus WMS?

Add Clarus WMS

Connect a Clarus WMS warehouse so goods outs and goods-in receipts are booked automatically, and shipments, receipts and stock come back to your ERP.

About 7 min

At the end of this guide your Clarus WMS warehouse will be connected to Supply Lens, with goods outs going to the warehouse and despatches, receipts and stock coming back, tested on one order.

Before you start

  • The Clarus connection details from the warehouse, for the Clarus WMS connection form.
  • A sheet of Clarus ids from the warehouse: the warehouse id, the goods in and goods out bay (location) ids, the carrier and carrier service ids, and your account code. Clarus settings hold ids (numbers), not codes.
  • Separate test and live ids. A Clarus test account usually has different ids from live: the warehouse might be 8 in test and 2 in live, and the bays differ too. Keep both sets.
  • Your ERP already connected. See Add an Integration.
  • SKUs aligned with the warehouse's product list. See Align your SKUs.
  • Pallet conversions on your Products if you'll send storage-unit (pallet) quantities. See Add a unit conversion.

Steps

Create and connect

  1. Go to Settings → Integration setup → Integrations.
  2. Click + ADD INTEGRATION, search for Clarus WMS and click ADD.
  3. Complete the connection form and click CONNECT. Leave Activation disabled for now.

Add Configurations

  1. Expand the tile, click Configurations, then + Add.

  2. Add the flows you need, clicking Create Default JSON and Save for each:

    Settings groupDirectionWhat it does
Clarus WMS Warehouse OrderSendCreates a goods out
Clarus WMS Warehouse ShipmentReceiveImports despatched goods outs, with batches picked
Clarus WMS Goods InboundSendBooks a goods in receipt from a purchase order
Clarus WMS Goods Inbound ReceiptReceiveImports what the warehouse counted
    Clarus WMS InventoryReceiveImports stock balances
  3. On Warehouse Order and Goods Inbound, set defaultWarehouseId and defaultLocationId to the test ids, and set the carrier and service settings.

  4. On every Receive Configuration, set filterByAccountCode to your own account code. The Inventory warehouse filter, filterByWarehouseCode, takes the warehouse code (such as AW), not the numeric id.

Add master data

  1. Add your Clarus account or customer identifiers to your Parties, for example Clarus WMS Account Code or Clarus WMS Account ID. See Add a Party identifier.
  2. Make sure the Location your orders are fulfilled from is the warehouse's Location. Clarus resolves the warehouse from the fulfilment location, and only falls back to defaultWarehouseId when there's none.

Add Mappings

  1. Go to Settings → Integration setup → Mappings and click + ADD.

  2. Create one Mapping per flow, for example:

    MapFromTo
    Warehouse OrderYour ERPClarus WMS
    Warehouse ShipmentClarus WMSYour ERP
    Goods InboundYour ERPClarus WMS
    Goods Inbound ReceiptClarus WMSYour ERP
    InventoryClarus WMSYour ERP
  3. Set As to Target Data, tick Enabled, and leave Automatic off while you test. Click SAVE.

Test

  1. Set Activation to Enabled, with no schedule.
  2. Send one test order with a complete address, then click Run Send under Manual Operation.
  3. Ask the warehouse to despatch it, then click Run Receive.
  4. To test stock, set filterByProductCode to one product, run Run Receive, and check it. Clear the product filter straight afterwards.

Clear the product filter before any snapshot

When lastImportDate is empty, Clarus stock imports as a complete snapshot, and every product outside the snapshot is set to zero. A snapshot taken with filterByProductCode set zeroes everything the filter excludes.

Check it worked

  • The goods out appears in Clarus against the right warehouse, bay and carrier.
  • The despatch comes back as a Warehouse Shipment in Supply Lens, with the batches picked, and updates your ERP.
  • At go-live, swap defaultWarehouseId and defaultLocationId on both Warehouse Order and Goods Inbound for the live ids, then set a Schedule and turn Automatic on.

If something goes wrong

  • An order fails translation before sending. The address is incomplete. Clarus needs a recipient or company name, street, town, postcode and country. Fix the source order, then reprocess the Document.
  • A goods in receipt is refused. One SKU can't be found in Clarus, and the whole receipt stops. Fix the SKU and reprocess.
  • Other clients' despatches appear. filterByAccountCode is empty. Set it to your account code.
  • Pallet quantities fail. sendStorageUnitQuantity needs a pallet conversion on each Product. See the Clarus WMS settings.
