Supply Lens

How do I connect Cin7 Core or Cin7 Omni to Supply Lens?

Add Cin7

Connect Cin7 Core to import its sales, or Cin7 Omni to create orders and bring despatched shipments back.

About 6 min

At the end of this guide your Cin7 account will be connected to Supply Lens and tested on one order. Cin7 comes as two products, and Supply Lens treats them as two connectors:

ProductWhat Supply Lens doesDocument types
Cin7 CoreImports orders (sales) from CoreOrder
Cin7 OmniCreates orders in Omni, then imports shipments once Omni has despatched themOrder, Shipment

Before you start

  • Your Cin7 connection details, for the Cin7 Core or Cin7 Omni connection form.
  • Admin access to Supply Lens, to reach Settings → Integration setup.
  • The other end of the flow already connected: where Core's orders should go, or where Omni's orders come from. See Add an Integration.
  • SKUs aligned between Cin7 and your other systems. See Align your SKUs.
  • For Core: the Cin7 customer IDs and statuses you want to import, if you only want some sales.
  • For Omni: whether bill-of-materials products should be expanded, and the member IDs or stages you want shipments for.

Steps

Create and connect

  1. Go to Settings → Integration setup → Integrations.
  2. Click + ADD INTEGRATION, search for Cin7 and click ADD on Cin7 Core or Cin7 Omni.
  3. Complete the connection form and click CONNECT. Leave Activation disabled for now.

Add Configurations

  1. Expand the tile, click Configurations, then + Add.
  2. Cin7 Core: add Order with Receive. Click Create Default JSON. To import only some sales, set includeCustomerIds or excludeCustomerIds, and the sale status and sale order status filters. An order must pass every filter you set. Click Save.
  3. Cin7 Omni: add Order with Send and Shipment with Receive, using Create Default JSON for each. In Order, decide loadBoms and, optionally, a projectName such as "Supply Lens". In Shipment, includeStages defaults to Dispatched, which is usually right. Click Save.

Add Mappings

  1. Go to Settings → Integration setup → Mappings and click + ADD.
  2. Cin7 Core: create an Order Mapping from Cin7 Core to the system that should receive the orders.
  3. Cin7 Omni: create an Order Mapping from your sales channel to Cin7 Omni, and a Shipment Mapping from Cin7 Omni back to the channel or ERP.
  4. Set As to Target Data, tick Enabled, leave Automatic off while testing, and click SAVE.

Test

  1. Set Activation to Enabled, with no schedule.
  2. Core: create a test sale that passes your filters, then click Run Receive under Manual Operation.
  3. Omni: process a test order to Omni with Run Send. Once Omni shows it as despatched, click Run Receive.

Check it worked

  • Core: the test sale appears as an order in Supply Lens, and sales outside your filters don't.
  • Omni: the order appears in Omni (under your project name, if you set one), and the despatch comes back as a Shipment in Supply Lens.
  • Then set a Schedule and turn Automatic on for your Mappings.

If something goes wrong

  • Core orders you expected don't arrive. One of the filters excludes them. Remove filters until it arrives, then add back only what you need.
  • Omni shipments don't come back. The order is in a stage not in includeStages, or its member is filtered out.
  • A product isn't recognised. See Fix "product does not exist".
  • For every setting, see the Cin7 settings.
