Import Cin7 Core orders
Lesson 11 of 30 6 min read
Bring Cin7 Core sales into Supply Lens, filtered by customer and by the two kinds of status Cin7 Core tracks.
Cin7 comes in two products, Cin7 Core and Cin7 Omni, and Supply Lens has a connection form for each. They behave differently, so treat them as two connectors. This lesson covers Cin7 Core, where Supply Lens imports orders. The next covers Cin7 Omni.
By the end of this lesson you'll be able to configure the Cin7 Core Order Configuration so only the right customers' orders, at the right stage, come in.
Why filter by customer?
Cin7 Core is often the merchant's main inventory system, and it holds every sale: web orders, wholesale, marketplace. You may only want a slice of them in Supply Lens, for example orders for one wholesale customer that has to receive EDI documents, or everything except a channel that's already integrated another way.
| includeCustomerIds | Cin7 customer IDs to include. When set, only these customers' orders are imported. Empty means all customers. |
|---|---|
| excludeCustomerIds | Cin7 customer IDs to skip, even if they would otherwise be imported. |
Two kinds of status
Cin7 Core records a sale status and a separate sale order status, and the connector lets you filter on each:
| includeSaleStatuses | Sale statuses to include. Empty means all. |
|---|---|
| excludeSaleStatuses | Sale statuses to skip. |
| includeSaleOrderStatuses | Sale order statuses to include. Empty means all. |
| excludeSaleOrderStatuses | Sale order statuses to skip. |
Good to know
An order has to pass every filter you set: customer, sale status and sale order status. Start with the fewest filters that do the job, and add more only when a real order slips through.
Timing
| importDelay | Wait before importing an order, so other systems can finish changing it. |
|---|---|
| setupDate / lastImportDate | Go-live cut-off and watermark, managed by the system. |
Brightwater Drinks: one retailer through Supply Lens
Brightwater Drinks runs Cin7 Core and needs only its orders for a national retailer to flow through Supply Lens, where they're turned into EDI messages.
includeCustomerIdsholds the retailer's Cin7 customer ID, so nothing else is imported.- A sale order status filter is added so orders come in only once they've been authorised in Cin7 Core; the implementer confirms the exact status name with the customer's Cin7 admin.
importDelayis00:05:00to let staff finish editing a newly authorised order.
Recap
- Cin7 Core and Cin7 Omni are separate connectors with their own forms and settings.
- Cin7 Core orders can be filtered by customer ID, sale status and sale order status.
- Empty include lists mean all; exclude lists win.
- An order must pass every filter you set.
