Set up Etsy

Import Etsy orders using the three shared import settings, and plan the rest of an Etsy project around them.
Etsy is the simplest connector in this course to configure. Its configuration guide documents one Document type, Etsy Order, with three settings, all of which you met in the patterns module. That makes Etsy a good place to practise the basics, and a reminder that a short settings list puts more weight on the parts around it: SKUs, Mappings and testing.
By the end of this lesson you'll be able to configure Etsy order import and know what to check before go-live.
The settings
| setupDate | Only orders created on or after this date are imported. Set automatically when the Integration is first configured. |

| lastImportDate | The watermark. Each run fetches only orders modified after it. Managed by the system. |
| importDelay | Wait before importing an order, so other Etsy apps (a 3PL, fulfilment app or pricing engine) can update it first. For example 00:05:00. |
There's no status filter, customer default or Location setting in the Etsy guide. Whatever the connector imports, your Mappings and the target Integration's settings decide what happens next.
Good to know
The guide documents only the Order Configuration. Check the Add configuration window on the Integration for any other Document types before you plan stock or shipment flows for Etsy.
What to concentrate on instead
- SKUs. Etsy listings are often created by hand, so SKUs drift. Export SKUs from Etsy and the back office and compare them before go-live.
- The target's customer settings. With no customer default on the Etsy side, decide in the target Integration how Etsy buyers become customers.
- importDelay. If the shop uses an app that edits orders after checkout, set a delay.
Fern & Finch's Etsy shop
Fern & Finch sells a handmade range on Etsy. The implementer adds the Order Configuration, leaves
setupDate and lastImportDate alone and sets importDelay to 00:05:00 because a
personalisation app writes notes to new orders. Before enabling, she compares Etsy SKUs with
Unleashed and fixes three that differ only by letter case.
