Set up Wix and Duda

Lesson 19 of 30 7 min read

Import website orders from Wix with payment, fulfilment and order status filters, and from Duda with customer defaults and billing email matching.

Wix and Duda are website builders with built-in shops, popular with smaller brands and agencies. Their connectors are light, so they share a lesson. Wix gives you fine control over which orders come in. Duda gives you control over who the customer is.

By the end of this lesson you'll be able to configure order import for both, and know which other Document types Wix supports.

Wix

Connect a Wix store from the add-integration list. Wix offers Order, Shipment and Inventory Configurations.

Which Wix orders?

Wix tracks three separate statuses on an order, and you can filter on each:

importPaymentStatusesOnly orders with one of these payment statuses, such as PAID or PENDING. Empty means all.
importFulfillmentStatusesOnly orders with one of these fulfilment statuses. Empty means all.
importStatusesOnly orders with one of these overall order statuses. Empty means all.
importDelayWait before importing so other Wix apps can update the order.
disableExpectedPayableTagSkip the total check at import.
setupDate / lastImportDateGo-live cut-off and watermark, managed by the system.

Tip

The most useful single filter is usually importPaymentStatuses = PAID, so unpaid orders never reach the warehouse. Add the others only if you need them; an order has to pass every filter you set.

Wix shipments and stock

Both the Shipment and Inventory Configurations use only the base Integration configuration. Add them and map them; there's nothing else to set.

Duda

Duda offers an Order Configuration.

defaultCustomerIdThe Party used when an order has no identifiable customer.
alwaysSetDefaultCustomerIdUse the default customer for every order, even when a customer was identified.
includeBillingEmailAsCustomerIdentifierAdd the order's billing email (if present) as a customer identifier of type duda-billing-email, so the downstream system can match by email.
importDelayWait before importing so other systems can update the order.
setupDate / lastImportDateGo-live cut-off and watermark, managed by the system.

The Duda guide has no status filter, so every order from the setup date onward is imported.

Rendering diagram...

An agency with two clients

An agency runs a Wix shop for Fern & Finch's sister brand and a Duda shop for a local bakery.

  • Wix: importPaymentStatuses = PAID, so pay-on-collection orders that are never paid don't reach Unleashed. Shipment and Inventory Configurations are added with no settings.
  • Duda: the bakery's accounting system has a customer per trade buyer, so includeBillingEmailAsCustomerIdentifier is on to match by email, with a defaultCustomerId for orders that arrive without a billing email or can't be matched.

Recap

  • Wix filters orders by payment, fulfilment and overall status; an order must pass every filter.
  • Wix Shipment and Inventory need no settings.
  • Duda has customer settings but no status filter.
  • includeBillingEmailAsCustomerIdentifier matches Duda customers by billing email.
