eBay settings
Every setting on the eBay order, inventory and shipment Configurations, including the tax settings for orders where eBay collects the tax itself.
The eBay connector imports orders from eBay, sends stock levels back and sends shipments to eBay. Its settings live on three Configurations: eBay Order, eBay Inventory and eBay Shipment. One setting, the setup date, applies to all of them.
All eBay Configurations
| Setting | What it does | Values / default | When to change it |
|---|---|---|---|
Setup date setupDate | Only Documents created on or after this date are imported, so historical records aren't pulled in at go-live. | Date. Set automatically when the Integration is first configured. | Not normally changed afterwards. |
Order import: what and where
These settings, and those in the next two sections, are on the eBay Order Configuration.
| Setting | What it does | Values / default | When to change it |
|---|---|---|---|
Order fulfilment status orderFulfillmentStatus | Only orders with this fulfilment status are imported. | A status value. Default NotStartedOrInProgress. | Change it to import orders at a different fulfilment state. |
Last import date lastImportDate | The import watermark. Each run fetches only orders modified after it. | Date and time. Managed by the system. | Don't edit it by hand. |
Fulfilment location fulfillmentLocationId | The fulfilment Location assigned to every imported eBay order. | A Location ID. | Set it to the warehouse that fulfils eBay orders. |
Default customer defaultCustomerId | The Party used when no customer can be identified from the order. | A Party ID. | Set it as a fallback for orders without customer details. |
Always use the default customer alwaysSetDefaultCustomerId | Uses the default customer for every order, whatever is on the order. | On or off. | Turn on when all eBay orders should go to one generic customer account. |
Order import: tax
| Setting | What it does | Values / default | When to change it |
|---|---|---|---|
Calculate tax if not provided calculateTaxIfNotProvided | Calculates tax when an eBay order has no tax information, so every order has a tax component. | On or off. | Turn on if your target system needs tax on every order. |
Marketplace tax rates marketplaceTaxRates | The tax rate rules used by calculateTaxIfNotProvided. See below. | List of rules. | Set a rate for each marketplace you sell on. |
Exclude eBay-collected tax excludeEBayCollectedTax | For orders where eBay collects the tax itself, imports the order tax-exclusive and zero rated. See below. | On or off. Default off. | Turn on if eBay-collected tax shouldn't appear on your orders. |
Marketplace tax rates
Each rule in marketplaceTaxRates has three fields. Rules are matched in order, and the most
specific match (both marketplaces set) takes priority.
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
listingMarketplaceId | The eBay marketplace the item was listed on, for example EBAY_GB. Leave blank to match any. |
purchaseMarketplaceId | The eBay marketplace the buyer purchased on. Leave blank to match any. |
taxRate | The rate to apply, for example 0.20 for 20%. |
Tax that eBay collects
On some orders eBay collects the tax and pays it to the tax authority itself, such as IOSS VAT for EU buyers and US state sales tax. eBay adds that tax on top of the item price and sends no rate for it.
excludeEBayCollectedTaxon: the order is imported tax-exclusive and zero rated. Lines and delivery carry their net amounts with no tax, and the payable total leaves out eBay's tax.excludeEBayCollectedTaxoff: the order carries eBay's tax amounts against tax-inclusive prices.
Either way, orders where eBay collected no tax are unaffected and follow
calculateTaxIfNotProvided.
Order import: tags
| Setting | What it does | Values / default | When to change it |
|---|---|---|---|
Tag generation documentLevelTagGeneration | Rules for creating tags from fields in the eBay order. Each rule has a key, a path to the source field and an optional source. | List of rules. | Carry an order field into a tag a target tag map can read. |
Advanced tag generation documentLevelAdvancedTagGeneration | The same idea using JSON Path or JSON Pointer expressions, to reach values in deeply nested data. | List of rules. | Use it when the value sits inside a list or nested object. |
Inventory
These settings are on the eBay Inventory Configuration.
| Setting | What it does | Values / default | When to change it |
|---|---|---|---|
Use legacy system useLegacySystem | Sends stock updates through eBay's legacy API rather than the current inventory API. | On or off. | Turn on for compatibility with some eBay set-ups or during a migration. |
Allow multiple listings per SKU legacySystemAllowMultipleItemsPerSku | With the legacy system, lets several eBay listings share one SKU. No effect unless useLegacySystem is on. | On or off. | Turn on if you have several listings for the same product. |
Shipments
The eBay Shipment Configuration has no settings beyond the shared setup date.
