Supply Lens

Enterpryze as your hub

Lesson 1 of 15 5 min read

Why businesses connect Enterpryze to the rest of their systems through Supply Lens, and what changes once it is live.

By the end of this course you will have an Enterpryze Integration in Supply Lens that creates sales orders from your storefronts, sends stock and despatches back out, and has been tested end to end. This first lesson explains why that is worth doing and how Enterpryze fits into the picture.

The problem it solves

Enterpryze is an ERP: it holds the records your business runs on. Products live in its Item Master, customers and suppliers are Business Partners, and it tracks stock, pricing, orders and fulfilment. But orders rarely start in Enterpryze. They arrive from a Shopify or WooCommerce store, a marketplace, a retailer's EDI system or a wholesale portal. Despatches often happen in a 3PL warehouse. Invoices may need to reach a finance tool.

Without an integration, someone re-keys every order into Enterpryze, then re-keys the despatch back to the storefront, and updates stock levels by hand. That is slow, and every re-key is a chance for a typo.

The Enterpryze Integration lets Supply Lens move that data automatically, so records stay in step without anyone re-typing them.

The hub-and-spoke model

The easiest way to picture an Enterpryze project is as a hub with spokes. Enterpryze is the hub, holding the authoritative records. Each connected system is a spoke. Supply Lens sits between them: it receives data, checks and transforms it, applies your business rules and routes it to the right place.

Rendering diagram...

The value compounds. Once the first spoke is live, the next one reuses the same foundations: the same SKU alignment, the same customer strategy and the same warehouse codes.

What it looks like when it works

  • A customer places an order in your store. A few minutes later a matching sales order appears in Enterpryze, against the right Business Partner, with the right items.
  • Stock changes in Enterpryze flow out to your connected storefront.
  • A despatch recorded against the order flows back, so the storefront can update the customer.

Fernhill Botanicals

Fernhill Botanicals sells skincare through a WooCommerce store and to a handful of trade stockists. Enterpryze holds its products and stock. Today, a member of the team copies 60 web orders a day into Enterpryze each morning, and orders placed after 3pm wait until the next day. We will follow Fernhill through this course as it connects WooCommerce and Enterpryze through Supply Lens.

Where Enterpryze sits in Supply Lens

Enterpryze is one of the ERP and accounting Integrations you can add from the Add Integration dialog. It works like every other Integration: you add it, give it credentials, add Configurations for the message types you want, and create Mappings to route Documents between it and your other Integrations. If any of those terms are new, the Connecting your systems course covers them.

Recap

  • Enterpryze is the hub that holds your authoritative product, customer, stock and order records.
  • Supply Lens connects the edge systems (storefronts, marketplaces, warehouses, finance) to it, so nobody re-keys orders or despatches.
  • Each new connection reuses the same foundations: SKU alignment, Business Partner strategy and warehouse codes.
  • You set it up like any Supply Lens Integration: credentials, Configurations, then Mappings.
