Register as a Peppol Participant

Use the first step of the Peppol Wizard to create your Participant, choosing an identifier scheme and entering your business details.
Registering your Participant is what puts you on the Peppol network. It takes a couple of minutes, but the identifier you choose becomes your address, so it's worth getting right. By the end of this lesson you'll have created your Participant.
Have these ready
- The identifier you've decided to register under (see the Peppol concepts module), such as your VAT number or GLN.
- Your company's registered name.
- Your country.
Run the wizard
- On the Peppol dashboard, click Run Wizard.
- Fill out the Identifier section (see the table below).
- Fill out the Business Entity section with your Name and Country.
- Click Create participant.
The fields
| Identifier Meta Schema | Already set for you. |

| Identifier Schema | The type of identifier you're registering under, chosen from the list, such as GLN or VAT. |
| Identifier Value | Your number for that scheme. If you chose GLN, enter your GLN; if VAT, your VAT number. |
| Name | The name of your company or organisation. |
| Country | Your country, chosen from the list. |
Check the value before you click Create
Your Participant ID is how other organisations find you. A typo in the identifier value means partners looking you up by your real number won't find you. Copy the number from an official source such as a VAT certificate rather than typing it from memory.
After you click Create participant
Your Participant is created and the wizard moves on to its second step, adding trading partners (covered in the next lesson). You can see and manage your Participant afterwards on My Participants.
Ashby Joinery registers
Ashby's office manager leaves Identifier Meta Schema as it is, picks VAT as the
Identifier Schema, and pastes the VAT number from their VAT registration certificate into
Identifier Value. She enters Ashby Joinery Ltd as the Name, chooses the United
Kingdom, and clicks Create participant.

- The Identifier Meta Schema is set for you; you choose the Identifier Schema and enter its value.
- Enter your business name and country in the Business Entity section.
- Create participant registers you and moves the wizard on to trading partners.
- Double-check the identifier value: it becomes the address partners use to find you.
